Fly Fishing for trout in a private and secluded lake

FISHERY

Clay Lane Trout Fishery is renowned for the quality and variety of trout species - including Brown;  Rainbow;  Golden; Blue; Brook and Tiger Trout.  The spring-fed water is situated in the heart of Cheshire, yet conveniently positioned between Knutsford and Alderley Edge/Wilmslow for ease of access.

Fly life is abundant and trout may be caught using a variety of methods, from dry and wet flies to buzzers and lures.

Although deep in parts, the water is usually fished with a floating line.

A range of flyfishing equipment is available from the shop, including rods;  reels;  fly lines and locally tied flies - in addition to clothing and accessories.

We offer a “try before you buy” policy on all rods, plus a complete beginners package at a reduced special price - please ask at the shop for details.

We sell single-handed trout and double-handed salmon rods, plus spinning gear.  We specialise in offering a full range of rods from Sharpe's of Aberdeen.
